Media Matters, a liberal site, criticizes what it sees as media’s conservative bias. It can
be accessed at mediamatters.org. Accuracy in Media, a conservative group, argues
exactly the opposite. It can be accessed at www.aim.org.
• Try to find a news topic that both web sites discuss, preferably one about which
you do not already have strong feelings.
• Does one of these web sites present the topic more persuasively than the other
does? Explain why or why not.

• Regardless of your personal feelings, provide a good argument for not owning a
